Why Use an Electric
Water Fountain for Your Cat/Dog?
The normal water dish is
filled with old, stale water. Consider the taste
of the glass of water left on your bedside table
for days. It taste funny, doesn't it? This is
because much of the dissolved oxygen in the
glass is gone, leaving an unpleasant taste.
Your cat's water dish is
just the same. Most cats prefer running water.
Likely instinctual, this behaviour is seen in
the wild—cats seek out fresh, running water and
avoid stagnant water because of its
contamination risk.
Health Benefits
Ironically, if the
domesticated cat refuses to drink enough water
from its water dish it risks urinary tract
infections (UTIs). Therefore ensuring your cat
drinks enough water is important for its health,
and saving you from treatment bills.
